Con-Text, the proposal for HW2018
HelloWood started as an art camp in 2010 in Hungary, and over the years, it has become a global center for architects, designers and carpenters looking for new ways to share and produce knowledge. Since 2017, in addition to the activities in Europe, HelloWood holds an annual camp in Argentina.
In this context, NOA was selected as one of the architectural practices to lead a project for HelloWood 2018 in its Argentinian edition.
Convergences: An anomaly in the landscape
For the development of the project, we had 1 linear km of wood slats, screws and the environment, a plain in the province of Entre Ríos in the Estancia Los Azotes near the city of Ceibas.
The structure arises as an anomaly that stands out in the landscape, a wall that interrupts the once uninterrupted horizon, forcing to deviate, but at the same time inviting to enter. The warped, opaque and translucent planes open and close perspectives and propose a new way of experiencing the landscape and the sky. The path that seems to open closes and forces us to rethink how to continue, a new space opens in which the enclosure proposes a moment to observe the sky and why not, produce the unexpected casual crossing with the other.
