A house with inner light
The challenge: design and build a house for a couple that would have children in the future. We began assessing the different alternatives and decided that buying an existing house and renew it would be the best choice. The location was in the traditional and residential neighborhood of Belgrano R.
Apart from the basic programmatic demands, the owners wanted a house that was very private and unnoticed from the outside, but possible to be lived in a very expansive way from the interior.
The house is organized in two pairs of crossed and interlocked pieces, crossed by a fifth piece that is the central void that ends up giving meaning to all the spaces it nourishes with its glass roof and the sculptural stair and bridge.
